Responsibilities
- Receive, evaluate, and dispatch emergency (911) and non-emergency calls to police, fire, and medical units with speed and accuracy.
- Monitor multiple radio frequencies and CCTV surveillance systems simultaneously to ensure situational awareness.
- Provide critical, real-time information to field units to facilitate rapid and safe response times.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all calls for service and agency activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatchers, officers, supervisors, and the general public in high-pressure situations.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Louisiana Driverβs License is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under extreme stress and pressure.
- Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
