Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain detailed logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Provide critical information to field units using established protocols
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously
- Remain calm and professional during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Clear communication skills in English
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Basic computer literacy and multitasking ability
- Residency in Hawaii at time of appointment
- No felony convictions
