Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment to dispatch police units
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident reports
- Coordinate with EMS, Fire Department, and other agencies during multi-agency responses
- Remain calm under pressure while handling critical incidents
- Participate in continuous training drills and scenario simulations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and NJ dispatch regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid NJ driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
