Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using multi-line systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently via radio and CAD systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders and public inquiries
- Operate specialized communication equipment under pressure
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Participate in continuous training to enhance operational skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM (verified assessment)
- U.S. citizenship with legal authorization to work
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional listening skills
- No felony convictions (misdemeanor case-by-case review)
- Must be 18+ years old at time of hire
