Responsibilities
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls and prioritize incidents based on severity
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS units during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate incident documentation in real-time
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Monitor surveillance feeds and security alerts for citywide incidents
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Ohio driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum 35 WPM typing certification
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional listening skills
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
