Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, gathering critical information from callers
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate field units
- Input and maintain accurate data in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously while prioritizing incidents
- Provide clear and concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Valid California driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years old
