Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police/fire/EMS resources
- Maintain accurate records and logs using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during complex emergencies
- Operate radio equipment and maintain constant communication with field units
- Monitor surveillance systems and detect suspicious activities
- Perform data entry and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Arizona Driver's License or obtain within 30 days
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Must pass POST Dispatcher Basic Course within 6 months
