Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch officers and emergency resources during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, Police)
- Operate radio equipment and surveillance systems
- Complete mandatory training modules within 90 days
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- US citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified assessment)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, MS Office)
- Strong verbal communication skills
- No felony convictions
