Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, Hospitals) during multi-jurisdictional events
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication systems
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress crisis situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid California driver's license
- Clear criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Ability to pass hearing/vision tests and medical examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
