Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical personnel using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to officers during active operations
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch equipment
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel upon certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and typing ability (40+ WPM)
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Must be 18+ years old and a US citizen
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid Alaska driver's license required
