Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using multi-channel radio communications
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation per department protocols
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to callers in distress
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate NCIC/TCIC databases for criminal background checks
- Train on emergency alert systems and disaster response protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred
- Must pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed minimum 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Fluent English proficiency; bilingual skills a plus
- US citizenship or legal resident status required
- No felony convictions; clean driving record essential
