Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the public with a calm and professional demeanor.
- Dispatch law enforcement officers, fire personnel, and emergency medical services to incident locations using two-way radio and computer-aided dispatch systems.
- Maintain accurate, detailed logs of all calls, events, and dispatch activity.
- Monitor and track the status of field units to ensure efficient response times.
- Provide information, directions, and assistance to citizens inquiring about police services or reporting incidents.
- Perform multi-tasking duties, including typing incident reports, speaking on the radio, and listening to incoming calls simultaneously.
- Collaborate with other dispatch centers and emergency response agencies during large-scale incidents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
