Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and efficiency
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate incident logs and real-time status updates
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival medical instructions
- Operate radio, telephone, and alerting equipment per protocol
- Train on NIMS and Ohio Incident Command System standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM verified by test
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice with excellent active listening skills
- U.S. citizenship and Ohio residency within 6 months of hire
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
