Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and radio communication systems
- Coordinate with police, fire, and medical services during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during medical emergencies
- Multi-task efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified test required)
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- No felony convictions; misdemeanor case-by-case evaluation
