Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems with precision
- Enter and retrieve information using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide clear, calm instructions during emergency situations
- Coordinate resources and personnel during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Collaborate with other agencies and first responders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and typing ability (30+ WPM preferred)
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Texas driver's license required
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Texas required
