Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and precision
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement/fire/EMS units to incidents
- Maintain accurate records using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to officers during active incidents
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized equipment
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
- Train on EMD/FPDP call-taking methodologies
- Participate in scenario-based emergency drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 45 WPM typing certification
- Basic computer literacy with ability to learn specialized software
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Clear speaking voice with strong diction
- U.S. citizenship and Indiana residency required
