Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/rescue units
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress scenarios
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Hawaii driver’s license
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (tested during application)
- Clear criminal background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, MS Office)
- Must pass written and oral psychological evaluation
