Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate police units using CAD systems and radio protocols
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-incident responses
- Operate communication equipment per departmental policies
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid KY driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Type minimum 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- No felony convictions
