Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and precision
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies (FEMA, FBI, State Troopers)
- Train on specialized software including NG911 and GIS mapping
- Participate in quarterly emergency scenario simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- No felony convictions and clean background check
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation and drug screening
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Excellent active listening and de-escalation skills
- Valid Alaska driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- US citizenship or authorized work status
