Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents (fires, medical emergencies, crimes in progress)
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Collaborate with police, fire, and medical personnel
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Colorado driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress situations
- Clear verbal communication skills in English
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
- Basic computer proficiency
