Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses (EMS, Fire, etc.)
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Operate radio equipment per FCC protocols
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance
- Adhere to NENA/NGA standards for emergency communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified test required)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Clear speaking voice with strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Must pass written and oral entrance examinations
