Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems and radio equipment
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, etc.) during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Operate 9-1-1 systems and backup communication channels
- Participate in continuous training and scenario-based drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid California driver's license
- Clear background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified test required)
- Ability to speak clearly and understand diverse dialects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
