Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Operate radio systems to coordinate field units during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities in CAD systems
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and medical agencies during multi-agency responses
- Utilize mapping software for precise location identification and resource deployment
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Strong multitasking skills in high-pressure environments
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening abilities
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
