Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain constant radio communication with field personnel and other agencies
- Enter and update critical information in real-time during active incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Document all communications accurately and maintain detailed records
- Operate specialized emergency communication equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 35+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communication skills and calm demeanor under stress
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
