Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls, accurately assess situations, and dispatch appropriate law enforcement/fire/EMS units
- Operate multi-line telephone systems, radio equipment, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities using digital systems
- Provide critical information to first responders and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Remain calm under extreme pressure while making rapid decisions during crisis situations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations
- Complete all training modules to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must pass background check, polygraph examination, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional communication skills
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software quickly
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
