Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical resources with precision
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during crises
- Utilize NCIC databases for suspect/warrant checks
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified by test)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
- No felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanor charges
