Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units with precise location and incident details
- Operate radio systems, CAD software, and telephone equipment
- Maintain accurate records and logs of all communications
- Provide crisis intervention and calming guidance to callers
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during multi-agency incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass background investigation, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing minimum 40 WPM (verified by test)
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
