Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for weapons, explosives, and prohibited items using X-ray scanners and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches when necessary
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity
- Operate advanced security technology including CT scanners and trace detection equipment
- Enforce TSA security protocols and procedures
- Communicate professionally with diverse travelers
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Basic computer proficiency
