Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and radio communication systems
- Coordinate resources between police, fire, and EMS during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation protocols
- Provide critical information to field units and other agencies
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation training
- Adhere to all federal, state, and departmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
- Minnesota POST Board certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
