Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, gather critical information, and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software to maintain real-time communication
- Provide pre-arrival emergency instructions including CPR and first aid protocols
- Maintain accurate call logs and update incident status in real-time
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Perform data entry and retrieve information from law enforcement databases
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA/GDPR compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid Texas driver's license (or obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Exceptional communication skills with clear diction and composure
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized software
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in high-stress environments
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
