Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritize incidents, and dispatch appropriate emergency services
- Maintain accurate records of calls, incidents, and communications in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations (e.g., CPR, first aid)
- Monitor multiple radio channels and maintain situational awareness
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire, neighboring jurisdictions)
- Perform data entry and generate daily activity reports
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and skill proficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress situations
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (minimum 35 WPM)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- No criminal history (background check required)
- Must pass pre-employment screening (typing test, written exam, interview)
