Responsibilities
- Answer Emergency and Non-Emergency Calls: Receive and process incoming calls from the public and law enforcement personnel efficiently.
- Dispatch Police and Fire Units: Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems to assign appropriate resources to incidents.
- Maintain Radio Communication: Monitor police radio frequencies to coordinate field operations and provide status updates.
- Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately document incident details, calls for service, and officer activity.
- Customer Service: Assist citizens with inquiries, provide information, and direct them to appropriate resources.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer literacy and ability to learn complex dispatch software quickly.
- Stress Management: Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure, emergency situations.
- Licensure: Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Clearance: Must pass a comprehensive background check, polygraph examination, and medical evaluation.
