Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines with speed and precision
- Operate radio communication systems to dispatch police units and coordinate with other emergency services
- Maintain detailed logs of all calls, incidents, and unit activities using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to officers and the public during high-stress situations
- Adhere to all department policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance dispatching skills and emergency response knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified through pre-employment test)
- Ability to pass thorough background check and drug screening
- Strong multitasking abilities with exceptional communication and listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Windows operating systems
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during emergencies
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
