Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and empathy
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS units during critical incidents
- Accurately document call details and maintain incident logs
- Remain calm and provide clear instructions to callers in high-stress situations
- Utilize radio communication protocols to relay critical information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (testing provided)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize during emergencies
- U.S. citizenship and valid NJ driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- No felony convictions
- Basic computer proficiency
