Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls via radio and phone systems
- Operate CAD/RMS software to maintain accurate incident records
- Coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and other city agencies during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Maintain situational awareness during dynamic unfolding events
- Document call details and unit responses with meticulous accuracy
- Adhere to all FCC regulations and departmental protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (college coursework preferred)
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Exceptional communication skills under pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
- Basic computer proficiency in Windows OS
