Responsibilities
- Answer 911 and non-emergency calls with empathy and efficiency
- Accurately assess caller information and prioritize incidents
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS resources via CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical events
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions when needed
- Operate radio equipment and emergency notification systems
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Experience in high-stress customer service or call centers
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with computer systems and software
- Fluency in English (Spanish/French Creole highly desirable)
