Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Utilize CAD systems and radio communications to dispatch appropriate resources
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergency situations
- Multi-task between phone, radio, and computer systems during high-pressure scenarios
- Complete all required dispatcher certification training modules
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn CAD/RMS systems
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Valid Texas driver's license at time of hire
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during emergencies
- Must complete state-mandated dispatcher certification within 12 months
