Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate radio equipment to coordinate field units and resources
- Enter/update information in CAD/record management systems
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-stress situations
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency scenarios
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural guidelines
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance dispatch skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Nevada driver's license with clean record
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
