Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations, and dispatch appropriate personnel
- Operate multi-line telephone systems, radio equipment, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Remain calm under pressure while providing clear instructions to callers in crisis
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and incident details
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to type 40+ words per minute (testing required post-application)
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize information during emergencies
- Exceptional communication and active listening abilities
- U.S. citizenship and valid Washington State driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Must be 18+ years old and able to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
