Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 99% accuracy
- Coordinate multi-agency responses (police, fire, EMS) during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via telephone during medical emergencies
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation per department protocols
- Operate radio communication systems for field units across Orange County
- Adhere to NENA and APCO standards for emergency call handling
- Participate in monthly scenario-based training simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 50 WPM typing certificate (within 6 months of hire)
- Pass background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Experience with multi-line phone systems or dispatch software
- Strong situational judgment and de-escalation skills
- US citizenship or permanent residency required
