Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS units during emergency responses
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance standards
- Complete 12-week intensive training program on dispatch procedures and crisis management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and clean criminal background check
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking abilities under high-pressure situations
- Excellent verbal communication skills and emotional intelligence
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and psychological evaluation
