Responsibilities
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to coordinate emergency responses
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD software
- Process 911 calls and maintain accurate incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Monitor radio traffic and maintain situational awareness
- Utilize department-issued equipment for communication and data entry
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and protocol standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice and strong communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age 18
- Successful completion of department training academy
