Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and efficiency
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents (fires, medical emergencies, crimes)
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS teams
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency (typing test required: 30+ WPM)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the US
- No felony convictions (misdemeanors evaluated case-by-case)
- Valid Florida driver's license (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
