Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and advanced screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screenings in compliance with TSA protocols
- Provide clear instructions to travelers while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor
- Identify and report suspicious activities or potential security threats
- Document screening incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security escalations
- Participate in continuous training on new security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in high-traffic environments
- Strong attention to detail with pattern recognition capabilities
- Effective communication skills in English (Spanish fluency preferred)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass TSA's Security Threat Assessment (STA) and medical evaluation
- No criminal history or felony convictions
