Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming calls for police, fire, and medical emergencies via 911 and non-emergency lines.
- Dispatch appropriate emergency response units to locations based on accurate call details.
- Maintain continuous monitoring of police radio frequencies and CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Enter and update incident reports, status logs, and field unit information in real-time.
- Provide clear, calm, and accurate directions and instructions to callers during crises.
- Communicate effectively with field personnel, supervisors, and other inter-agency partners.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of the United States.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute (typing test may be required).
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent grammar.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and focused under extreme stress.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
