Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units
- Operate radio systems and CAD software with precision under time-sensitive conditions
- Maintain detailed incident documentation and database entries
- Provide critical pre-arrival medical instructions via phone
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm activations
- Train on crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid Colorado driver's license
- Pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
- Clear diction and comprehension in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Successfully complete pre-employment testing (physical/psychological)
