Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritize incidents, and dispatch appropriate police units
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications and incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel during multi-agency responses
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and valid Oregon driver's license required
