Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public and police officers
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS units during emergency responses
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident information
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural guidelines
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- No prior dispatch or public safety experience required
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (minimum 30 WPM)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
