Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate call logs and documentation in compliance with department policies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents (fire, EMS, etc.)
- Provide pre-arrival emergency instructions to callers following certified protocols
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication systems during emergencies
- Perform data entry and system monitoring for real-time situational awareness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during assessment)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments with sound judgment
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Windows OS
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Must pass medical/psychological evaluations and drug screening
