Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD software and radio protocols
- Maintain accurate records of all communications in RMS databases
- Provide critical information to officers and other public safety agencies
- Operate multiple communication channels simultaneously during emergencies
- Remain calm and professional in high-stress, fast-paced environments
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel after certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of hire
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Exceptional communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
